During my time on Meta Horizon, I leveraged my skills as a Level and Game Designer for nearly 15 years in the game industry to create exciting new layouts and script gameplay for several Horizon Worlds - working on multiple workstreams in different capacities, and contributing to teams in North America and Europe.
My contributions on this project:
As the sole Level Designer on a cross-discipline Meta Horizon Experiences team, created layouts and game systems for Horizon Central, an island-based social space that is cross-play on VR, web browser, and mobile using a new proprietary Meta Horizon Engine
Led a 15 person multidisciplinary team to create a new Multiplayer Arena Shooter, responsible for designing the map layout, weapons, and interactive elements like pickups
Designed the layout and flow of the new Digital Store in Horizon Central where players can explore, socialize, customize, and purchase their avatar cosmetics
Created POIs and scripted a new tutorial and features in Pets Park, a Meta 1st-party Horizon World where players emotionally bond, explore, and play with a digital pet – improving player visit rate by 25% and a 33% increase in time spent in VR metrics
Leveraged my expertise in creating content for multiple game engines and closely collaborated with engineering, UX, and production teams to improve the proprietary Horizon editor, tools, and design pipelines – which are used by thousands of creators worldwide to develop and publish content on the Horizon platform
Worked closely with art to establish layout metrics and distances that are comfortable for all supported platforms, with a focus on VR and mobile
